ASL I will cover ASL basics, conversational ASL, ASL history and culture. The basics will include, using and reading fingerspelling, signing strategies, building ASL vocabulary as well as putting it all into practice through conversation and games. Students will come out of the class with the knowledge and ability to introduce themselves and have a basic conversation in ASL. While covering ASL history and deaf culture, students will not only have the physical capability to sign but knowledge and respect for the Deaf Community as well. It is essential that students practice each week's lesson and vocab everyday. High school students can receive a foreign language credit.

- Students will need access to one of the following: desktop/laptop/tablet/ipad/iphone etc so they can write essays and video projects.
- Students will need access to our Slack App (through either a computer or phone)
- Students will need pencils (pens are optional)
- Students will need notebook paper
- Students will need highlighters
- Students will need a 2 inch binder
- Each student is REQUIRED to bring one (1) ream of paper
- Each student is REQUIRED to bring one (1) roll of paper towels
