Enlightening The Dark Theatre Company is all about personal growth and education in all areas of the theatre! When filling out the audition application, you will be asked about your interest in onstage roles as well as your interest in learning the professional backstage roles of stage or tech crew.
​If you are not offered an acting role, we may still offer you company membership as crew! Our talented crew is integral to our family dynamic and quality productions!

​Opportunities

Note: Auditionees are welcome to come to one night of auditions but it is recommended they come to both, if possible. This allows our casting team to spend more time on evaluation, as well as gives you the opportunity to become more comfortable with the process and try different readings with various scene partners. Taking advantage of both date options also communicates passion for the roles and enthusiasm for the opportunity.

​We hold Cold-Read Auditions - This means, you will not need to prepare a monologue or a song.

How to Prepare

1. Read the Script - You can rent the original script for FREE from Woodstock Coffee & Bakeshop in North Jackson!
2. Fill out the online audition form - Available on January 2nd below.
3. Plan to have fun - Regardless of the outcome, auditions themselves can be a blast! Come with positive expectations!

What to expect

1. ETD is both an education and a professional environment - This means, we will explain things as we go & we will take opportunities to work with you as an actor. IT IS A GOOD THING IF WE STOP YOU & ask you to try different things! We also expect everyone to be attentive, respectful, & honor the artform throughout the process.
2. Make Bold Choices - Have fun, be creative, & work to be memorable for the ways that you bring energy & motivation to the characters.
3. Connect with your scene partners - You will be put in various groups throughout the audition process. Acting is RESPONDING. So, respond to what your partner gives you & also give them something to respond to.
